FAQ (answered) & About Tinuola
Generally speaking she is allergic to BS and snobbery but loyal to a fault when it comes to her friends.
She has a serious shoe addiction and would prefer not to seek "treatment" if that is at all possible
She once graced many magazine pages and was at the height of a modeling career. Then she sort of disappeared. Why? Tinuola was never really 100% mentally invested in modeling to begin with. Creativity has always been her passion. She prefers to create things with her hands such as building her brand designing fashion accessories or doing private labels for leading fashion stores worldwide and also things of the mind such as writing songs and is working on many projects not relating to each other and certainly not model related. She just thinks there is more she can offer outside the modeling industry. Modeling is still part of her things to do but just no longer her priority like it once was.
Traveling and reading juicy novels brings her more peace and calmness like no other. Other vices are shopping, designing and painting
Oddest thing about her? Most people find it odd that she actually tears up tremendously when she yawns!
She has been designing since she was about 5 years old for herself but was lured into the commercial aspect of it by private boutiques who loved how she puts it all together. It didn't take long before she was designing for a few of them.
Music is another means to escape the daily rigors of life for the multi-talented singer-songwriter (writes all of her songs), a good way to say out loud her inner thoughts and feelings. She also was one of the best fine artist in her high school. She hopes to return to the canvas once again at a later stage. This she finds very relaxing among other things.
That body, what's the secret? Absolutely nothing special! Known amongst her friends as an avid dancer when she goes out partying once in a while. The dance floor becomes her gym for a minimum of 6 hours non-stop while drinking absolutely no alcohol but water. Other than that the rest is good African genes.
Favorite designers? No one comes to mind with the exception of Christian Dior Haute Couture where she has been a loyal fan of John Galliano for years! But in general any creation that fits and looks flattering is always a favorite and not necessarily about whose name is on the label. She never follows the trend but actually creates her own trend that she could mimic over and over again without a date of creation attached to it. This way its easy to remain timeless. Beauty is all within at the end of the day!
Speaking of beauty, what's the regimen? When not working or going to any event she wears no makeup but lip gloss. Makeup clogs the skin, it's best to let it breathe and actually look different and festive when you are seen at an event wearing one for a change.
Does she really wear African attires as pictured in the photo galleries to western parties where others are dressed in gowns and tuxedos? But of course! She wears her heritage with pride and is always admired by all these events because she stands out of the lot and is very different from what others are wearing. Always the trendsetter and never the follower. She says she feels even more beautiful inside out in her African attires than she does in western creations. We can all admit that she wears them very well and does her people proud.
Did she really travel to all the countries pictured on this site? Oh yes it's her special "addiction". Some enjoy yachting or hunting for fun she enjoys traveling and studying other people's culture while living within their community. So many places, so little time! She is a travelholic and can never stay put. But then again why? Her motto? "life is beautiful, live it!"
Why the name change from T.Naija to Tinu? Tinu is a shorten form of Tinuola. This happens to be what most of her friends and families call her. However in 2003 she adopted the stage name T.Naija but decided to change it after discovering that just about everybody in Nigeria now uses the name "Naija" as a form of a last name in one way or another. Tinuola decided to simply go by her shortened first name and had it registered with the trademark office as a trade name. T.Naija however is still a registered trademark name.
